In this message, we focus on verses 7 and 20 of Philemon, being refreshed in Christ Jesus. In verse 20 Paul commands Philemon to “refresh his heart in Christ.” This is what the restoration of Onesimus was to do. Being refreshed in Christ is at once both a body of Christ ministry, and something that God does through another person. It is God’s work in us and through us. It is something that renews the Gospel in us as being refreshed in Christ reflects the grace of the Gospel, the love of the Gospel and the power of the Gospel.
