While we all experience joy for a lot of reasons, when the Scriptures encourage us to rejoice or be joyful, they do so with a set of reasons in mind. Richard shares from this biblical perspective and encourages us to experience joy even in the midst of difficulty because, just as the angel said to those awestruck and frightened shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11.
